Early Movements PT

Engaging with play

Offering home based Pediatric physical therapy services for infants, children and adolescents in the greater wichita area

About me

Welcome to Early Movements PT, LLC, thanks for checking us out! My name is Melissa Daughty, I’m the founder of Early Movements PT and a pediatric physical therapist in the greater Wichita area of KS. As a pediatric physical therapist, my passion lies in helping children meet their maximum potential with their functional mobility from infancy through adolescence. I have experience working with children of all ages through the early intervention, school, clinic, and hospital settings. Through these settings I’ve worked with children of varying diagnoses, ages (birth-teenagers), levels of motor skills, and levels of cognitive abilities. These range from autism, cerebral palsy, DiGeorge syndrome, Down syndrome (and much more) to general post-op recovery, balance/coordination deficits, and atypical gait patterns.

I love learning about child development - isn't it amazing how our minds and body grow over the years?! I also love the challenge of learning about each child and their family to better individualize and personalize their treatment/interventions so that they may reach their highest potential while working with Early Movements PT! Working with families to help each child reach their developmental milestones, learn new motor skills, and achieve new levels of their functional mobility is something that never gets old for me. I’m excited to continue helping families in the Wichita area by sharing my passion and knowledge for child development, foundations of learning higher motor skills, and importance of functional mobility!

Helping your child reach maximum potential with their functional mobility by engaging in play!

As a medical professional I knew we needed help but with a different company my opinions felt unheard. Thankfully a coworker recommended Melissa and it's been the best thing for our daughter. She's calmed all my worries, shown us a ton and encouraged us that it's working. I love that she's always prepared whether it be with an exercise ball, handouts, or practical skill exercises. She will help your child reach their milestones and beyond. Highly recommend her for all your child's physical therapy needs!

What our patient’s families are saying.....

Our little daughter was stuck in the fly position, not moving or rolling, and upset when we would put her down! We found Melissa and she helped so much!! She was crawling within 2 months! Melissa was so patient and hands on! She helped us learn as parents to grow our knowledge so we could work at home too!! We are so grateful to have found her. Our family would sing praises to everyone we meet!!

We have been attending Melissa’s Gross Motor Play Camps for a few months now and I have seen so much growth in my daughter. Melissa is very knowledgeable and has shown me so many different and fun ways to aide my daughter to help her work towards meeting milestones! Before we started Charlotte was struggling to roll and getting frustrated, and with her knowledge and tips Charlotte has made many strides and is close to crawling now! We really enjoy the classes!

Melissa has been our son’s Physical Therapist for multiple years. She is a kind and patient therapist. We can tell that he feels comfortable with her, despite his sensory issues. My husband and I both work full time, so it can be hard to fit therapy into our busy lives. Her therapy includes ways we can incorporate recommendations at home, during our busy schedule, which is super helpful! She also values our time and is punctual during visits. We highly recommend Melissa and Early Movements PT!
